Unplugging from Tech
As part of #the100dayproject Instagram challenge I recklessly embarked on a project to draw every day (#100DaysOfImperfection) - perfection be damned.
Like so many, the phone has become my constant companion, a needy and demanding one at that. So, for this challenge I decided to start drawing my phone, and its apps / accessories before actually turning it on and getting sucked into the vortex.
It’s been a very illuminating action. These are borderline blind contour drawings, where I only lift the pen to skip to drawing the app part. After about 20 days I felt my brain change - like it expanded a wee bit. It’s refreshing to draw first thing in the morning, rather than immediately taking on all the demands of the box. | @piquette
Neurons That Fire Together Wire Together*
I have a few larger ideas/tech-based projects brewing which explore the territory of social media. The drawings / watercolours / digital collages (available as signed prints below) are a bit of an immersion into the space of hearts in preparation for thinking about the network, breathing and all those damn likes.
